Perhaps when we think of meditation we might imagine a gentle oasis of cool lagoons, palm trees, coconuts and gentle breezes - an atmosphere that provides a soothing balm to counter the challenging and demanding reality we work through in our everyday lives. Well … not that there’s anything wrong with that.
But meditation can also prepare us for engaging the world on its own terms - preparing us to be clear, balanced, and resilient - deep contemplation leading to skillful action in the world.
